The quantity of DNA present on FTA™ cards varies depending on factors such as the type of sample, the collection devices utilized, the methods of collection, the swab-to-FTA™ transfer protocol, and inter-laboratory differences. Both blood and buccal samples may contain inhibitors that can interfere with DNA amplification. To address these challenges, Ademtech has developed the Smart D-N-Adem-Kit, designed to consistently deliver high-purity DNA, thereby significantly improving the quality and efficiency of forensic laboratory analyses. The extracted DNA is immediately ready for STR amplification without the need for additional quantification steps.
